Investment banker Carlos Abadi is the founder and president of Abadi & Co, a Wall Street investment firm. He focuses on debt restructuring, risk-reward evaluations, liability management, debt-to-equity conversions, debt monetization, debt buybacks, and similar financial solutions.
Since founding Abadi & Co in 1991, Abadi has brokered transactions between many firms in emerging markets and top-caliber ones alike. As recently as 2006, he transacted in the buyout of Refco.
To date, Carlos Abadi has been in the business of emerging market bonds for over two decades. In that span of time, he has given indispensable advice to banks, private firms, and governments, in many emerging markets across Central and South America.
At present, he is active in the advisory board of Roubini Global Economics (RGE) Monitor, the highest-ranked website on The Economist. Other than that, he serves on the boards of The Core Club, 900 Fifth Avenue Corp, and the Argentine-American Society.
Carlos Abadi is a graduate of prestigious Buenos Aires institutions. He attended the Lycee Franco-Argentin Jean Marmoz, where he graduated in 1977. From the Universidad de Buenos Aires, he procured a degree in Industrial Engineering. He traveled to America years later to pursue MBA at the Cornell University - Johnson School of Business in New York, where he has since been based.
