The H1N1 virus - otherwise known as Swine Flu - has been in the news media for the best part of 2009, and a sense of complacency has settled on the populace. Nevertheless, the swine flu virus is no less a menace now than when it first made the news.

Despite the fact that the swine flu virus causes death to only a small minority of those who are catch it, it also harms businesses due to lost productivity and generally induces panic in people when they find out an individual close to them has been infected. Like all virus-like infections, prevention is better than cure.

How can one aid in preventing the virus spreading? There are very uncomplicated steps that can be taken in public places. In the workplace where keyboards, doorknobs, phones (etc) are shared by many employees, swine flu wipes can aid in preventing the virus spreading. They are germicidal when fighting bacteria, viruses, and fungi, and should be used on non-porous, hard worktops. Wipe any surface that could potentially be hosting microbes. Proper and regular washing of hands by all employees has to be enforced, and is an uncomplicated method to prevent the spreading of the virus.

Using these sorts of steps, it’s possible to help temper the spread of the virus and make sure all people are as secure as possible from catching other viruses as well.
