Raised in New Jersey, Nicholas Bredimus looked at the world of airlines, hospitality, and software together and revolutionized these trades. His career highlights include effort-saving computer software, airplane safety improvements, and he’s even involved in designing upmarket homes. Not only that but, through it all, his emotional drive is clear.

Anyone could have anticipated, however, that with his family history he was always likely to reach the top. The family can trace its roots as far back as the time of Rome’s glory and can boast of a diverse mix of nationalities. The maternal line mingles German and Scottish stock. A similarly varied mingling dominates his father’s branch — prior to emigrating near the end of the nineteenth century, the family made their homes in Luxembourg and England. Even in the U.S.A, they still worked hard to make their way to the top. One of seven siblings — three boys and four girls — Nicholas had a father working as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who worked as a practicing nurse. His homes over the course of many years saw him based across a number of states.

Nicholas has stepped up to the challenge of high powered roles at companies throughout the air travel industry — the bulk of them major names. Among these was included the role of Vice President for Republic Airlines, Hughes Airwest, and even Trans World Airlines (TWA). But the airlines have had reason to be grateful, above all, for his pioneering work in software programming.

Bredimus is certainly most renowned for a US Airways request, crafting airplane upkeep programs, which eventually became the “old reliable” for much of the industry. Of course, this stands as just one of his standout products for airlines and for the hotel sector. The reservation programs he developed are on their way to joining the aforementioned program as a commonplace, and his room booking program created the option for several major companies in the hotel industry to leverage a client based infrastructure. For an encore came QuikTix, an automatic, networked system for selling tickets which stands as a first.

He leveraged these achievements to advance into capacities less connected to software development, and continued to make a name. Major positions with American Airlines and American Express were to come, and of course he founded a business of his own in the early 1990s. But is he still working? Certainly — his peerless abilities are still very much ready to answer the call in spite of his retirement. His involvement now is with the architectural matters behind the design of environmentally friendly, hitech luxury class homes.
