Aside from being the executive director and chairman of PCCW Limited, Chinese Canadian Richard Li Kai also functions as Pacific Century Regional Developments Limited’s chairman. He was born in 1966 as the youngest son of legendary Hong Kong tycoon Li ka-shing.
Richard Li began his journey to success after he created Star TV, the first satellite broadcasting service in Asia.
He was a former student at California’s prestigious Stanford University and was dubbed by the local media as Superboy after he pulled off Asia’s largest corporate takeover in August 2000. Li’s company, PCCW, was able to wrestle with Singapore Telecommunications for a deal involving HKT that was worth US$28.5 billion.
Eventually, Richard Li gave up his position as PCCW’s chief executive officer on July 25, 2003 but remained chairman and executive director. The position was then taken over by Jack So, after he left the chairmanship at MTR Corporation, Hong Kong’s subway operator.
Furthermore, Richard Li serves as a World Economic Forum for Information Technologies and Telecommunications governor. He is also active with Washington DC’s Center for Strategic and International Studies’ International Councillors’ Group, the United Nations Information and Communication Technology Advisory Group, the Global Information Infrastructure Commission, and the International Advisory Board of the Center for International Development at Harvard University.

Radio Rentals brings back shocking memories of mullets, Ford Escorts and series of The Sweeney on ailing television sets. Irrespective of this, one of its direct descendants BrightHouse is starting to claw back the place it lost on the high street through the rise of the likes of Currys, Dixons and Comet and the decline of the price of TVs.
BrightHouse was created out of Thorn-EMI, the owner of Radio Rentals, by Terra Firma, Guy Hands’s private equity group. It gained infamy for exorbitant APRs and expensive compulsory extra cover. Nowthe retailer is on the front foot, trying to clean up both its branches and its name as it embarks on a very ambitious growth programme. It plans to inaugurate 21 shops next year and estimates that there is room for at least 600.
Only twelve of BrightHouse one hundred and seventy eight shops are in within the M25, but, as Leo McKee, the sincere chief executive of the outlet, enjoys saying the high street turns into a very different place beyond the M25.
Its prospects, almost solely from the lower socioeconomic segments are having problems to get credit - if they ever could - as lenders cut their risk profiles.
“We are working on areas that [Lloyds] TSB are pulling out of,” Mr McKee said. The idea of BrightHouse stepping in to deliver credit to our poorest communities will not satisfy everyone. Nevertheless the Scot believes that this is an invalid perception.
“When I “began my time at Brighthouse [in 2004], we “requested a “third party “study to examine “the proposition asking: ‘Is it sufficient?’ and: ‘Does it have longevity?’ he said.
“The results came back: your name on the high street is garbage; you’re seen as a rip-off merchant; the prices were high, the stores shabby.
“The first decision I made was to change all the prices to match the high street, on the day I found out [the results].”
The old thinking was that as far as customers could afford the payments, they would not care about the total price. And this thinking had knock-on effects right through the business.
That is what Brighthouse are now trying to sort out so their image improves amongst the general public.

Despite, the downturn, British Land claims that 96% of its properties have been leased out for the recent accounting period. However, there’s a negative side as well - and I feel it necessary to be exposed to potential users. Sometimes an important feature of every antivirus or anti-spyware - real-time scanning - is taken off of the free edition. So you can use such application for on-demand scans only; it doesn’t keep track of file operations and processes running in computer memory. It is legal software since it gets downloaded in a computer system with the user’s permission.
A close friend of mine walked into his minority SMB office, cup of coffee in hand and was blown away by this question no owner wants to hear coming from his sales manager - ‘Hey boss, is a keylogger, spyware? Of course the cup of coffee hit the floor as my friends blood pressure hit the roof. Like most SMBs or solo entrepreneurs they have no IT guy, so he/she wasn’t there to get fired on the spot. No, I got the brunt of the frustration - being his IT guy on the side and now we get to the global definition of spyware. Data loggers, key loggers are just a few programs which harvest info from your computer. Winclear is the only program created specially to auto remove such spywares. Your account was accessed from remoteip ‘202. That is why every computer owner needs winclear.

Yes, the seemingly endless onslaught of cyber crime continues, this time via the innocent e-card - that which once was a nice surprise in the Inbox has become a gate to identity theft. Exploit Prevention Labs in Atlanta, GA reported in September that company researchers have discovered a scam in which e-cards are used to install keylogger software on the victim’s computer. The scam, which was executed by an Australian cyber criminal ring and is known as MDAC, involves sending to the user an e-card that appears to originate from a major online greeting card service. When the user clicks on the hyperlink to open the card, the browser is redirected to a exploit server, which checks to see if the computer has been updated with the latest security patches. If it hasn’t, the server installs a rootkit and keylogger, then redirects the computer on to an actual e-card. The user continues working on the computer, likely forgetting about the e-card. But from that point on, all keystrokes are being recorded and accessed by the attackers for use in identity theft. Winclear is the only software which is capable of removing keylogger programs. Stay aware and enjoy the details accessible through the WWW (World Wide Web). Winclear has been the industry leader in fighting keyloggers for the last 8 years.

Norton and McAfee are just popular examples. That is the reason why you need Winclear installed onto your computer. Making new software to attack different parts of any system made on earth. Protect your computer security by using Winclear! More about Winclear here: Computer Security.

It seems there are more and more online business opportunities
that come our way each day. There are also many more scams that
present themselves each day, so we need to be careful when
deciding to do business with these companies or not.
If you’re like most folks, you have a full-time day job but you
want or need more money to live a better life. Many of us work
day to day, barely getting by and just want that little extra to
make our lives much better financially. With the latest
technological advances like faster internet access and cheaper
computer prices, more and more of us are able to get online
today than ever before. With this access, we are able to see so
many more online business opportunities we wouldn’t have had
access to just a few short years ago.
With this also comes risk. With more great opportunities also
come more scams. More thieves think of ways they can prey on
folks to steal their hard earned money and do it over and over
again. If you’re like me, you get assaulted with e-mail after
e-mail trying to scam you out of something. Whether it’s a phony
e-mail claiming to be your bank or someone trying to sell your
Rolex watches, these scams are all around us. We need to be very
careful about the websites we visit or the links we click. You
should never reply with any of your private information to any
e-mail, whether it be from a company you do business with or
not. Legitimate companies will never ask for this information
and they will never ask you to click a link to go modify your
personal information.
When researching online business opportunities, you need to do
your homework. Don’t just search for “money making ideas”, click
on a website and sign up for a program without researching it
first, no matter how great the opportunity seems. One basic way
is to open up a web browser, go to Google and search for the
company name along with the word “scam”. If you start making
hits, read some of the threads. If there are many people out
there trashing the company, then stay far away from that
opportunity.
A great research tool to use is called Alexa. Alexa is a traffic
research tool but can be used for much more than that. You can
search on website to see what the Alexa rating is for certain
websites, what reviews, if any, have been written about the
company and possibly the owner, address and phone numbers. Lots
of nice little goodies you wouldn’t be able to find elsewhere.
Another way would be to use companies like NetworkSolutions and
their WHOIS service. In their WHOIS directory, type in the
website URL of the company you’re researching. See who their
hosting provider is. Are they keeping much of their information
private? If so, this could be a red flag. This is not always the
case however since the world is full of people who like nothing
more than to cause problems for web sites, most companies these
days prefer to keep their information private.
As with all investments, there are risks. Don’t invest more than
you can afford to lose, start small and build up your accounts
as you earn money in the programs. If you follow these simple
recommendations, you will do well. Don’t get too attached to any
one program. Even if one of the programs pays well and seems
like they will be around forever, remember nothing lasts
forever. Even the best run, well intentioned businesses can
fail. Just remember these important points and your winning
investments will easily outweigh the bad ones.
