How To Use Senna For Constipation Relief

Gepost door admin op 01/08/2008

It is known that Egyptians used senna tea to relieve constipation. This tea is used for medium and chronic conditions of constipation. It is the chemicals anthraquinones that provide its strong action on your colon walls. Senna is the second best herb to use for chronic constipation because it creates strong peristalic action. It is readily available in health food stores or on the Internet.

Only use senna for a short time, 1- 1 week. It is not healthy to use it for a long time, since its action moves fecal matter through your colon quickly. This quick action prevents absorption of nutrients by your colon depriving you of necessary minerals and vitamins.

Use senna only in amounts that produce the required bowel movement and stool softness to relieve your constipation. Start with small amounts and increase your amount slowly.

Senna is sold Over-the-Counter under the name Correctol®, ExLax®, Senokot®, and Smooth Move. Senokot also contain docusate sodium - a stool softener - an added benefit when hard, dry stools may cause discomfort.

Senna Tea with Potato peels

You can also prepare senna tea as follows:

Buy some senna tea at a health food. Place a tea bag into 1 cups of distilled water and steep. Then, add the peel of a whole red potato. Also, add a couple slices of potato meat. Add to this, a teaspoon of wheat or oat bran and flax seed.

Simmer this combination, strain it and drink the liquid. This will give constipation relief for some of the more difficult cases of constipation. Remember the longer you simmer this combination the stronger the tea will be. Start with a 5-10 minutes and then work up to 15-20 minutes but you need to experiment with the time.

When you drink senna tea, drink only 2-3 oz. at a time and drink it only after it has cooled down. It has less of a cramping action when you drink it cool.

Senna Tea with Peppermint

Here is another senna tea you can prepare.

1 teaspoon of senna tea leaves
teaspoon of peppermint leaves.

Boil 8 oz of distilled water, turn the heat off, stir in the herbs. Turn the heat off and cover the glass container. Let tea simmer for 3-10 minutes.

Add honey to improve taste and some powered vitamin C if you have it.

Look for formulas that have a small amount, 1/10 of a part, of fennel, anise, or ginger to reduce any cramping that might occur with senna.

Do not drink seena tea or capsule if you have any type of colon disease, stomach pain, diarrhea, or are pregnant.

Senna Pod Tea with Prunes.

Senna Pods are milder than the leaves since the do not contain the resin. It is the resin in the senna leaves that causes griping in your colon.

If available, use around 8 pods. Heat some distilled water. Place the pods into the water for 5-10 minutes. Strain the tea and add 3-4 dried prunes or chopped prunes. Let cool and eat the prunes during the day or drink and eat a few prunes just before you go to bed. Drink only a couple ounces of the senna liquid at one time. If cramping or griping occurs, reduce the amount of tea you drink.

There you have it. You can get constipation relief with senna herb by using it in different ways.

How to Write a Privacy Policy

Gepost door admin op 01/08/2008
Toegevoegd onder: World Of Webs

A Privacy Policy can be defined as the policy under which a company or organization operating a web site handles the personal information collected about visitors to the site. For most of us consumers, privacy involves protecting our integrity and our right to disclose or not our personal information to third parties, without letting anybody bother us with unsolicited communications if we do not want to be contacted.

Why has privacy become such a big deal for consumers over the last few years? The answer is that customers need reassurance before giving out their personal information to someone they do not know. They might really like your web site and even visit it often, but as soon as you ask for their name, they get suspicious. Moreover, if you also ask for their address, phone number, credit card number, bank names, account numbers, health history, or current job information, they start worrying about what you are going to do with all that information. Can you blame them? Of course you cannot. What you have to do is ensure you address some basic but critical aspects of their concern, through a clear and efficient Privacy Policy.

Below are some important issues you should take into consideration when writing your company’s Privacy Policy:

1) Explain what types of information you collect and how you use it

Provide reassurance. Clearly explain what types of information you ask from your visitors for and what you are going to do with such information. Besides personal information, what other information do you keep track of? Do you collect information from children? How do you verify parental consent for information about their children? Remember that information is power and although about two thirds of Internet users might be willing to accept a guarantee that you will not abuse their privacy, the other quarter feels extremely nervous about the way their personal information might be used. Therefore, if your web site mines raw transaction data to identify visitors, to come up with new offers, or to sell their names to merchandisers, you will need to explain how you share that information within your own family of companies and outside, or else you will very likely face serious legal problems.

2) Explain why your server and online operations are secure

Now you have already told people what information you ask for and what you do with it, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Next you will have to explain what makes your server and online operations secure. You probably do not want to be caught with no answer when confronted with questions such as, ‘How do you make sure nobody steals my credit card information?’ or ‘How do you protect the privacy of my emails to your customer support team?’ Point out how your consumers can tell if they are really on a secure server, i.e. the change in the URL, the icons that show up on the status bar, etc. You may even take a shot at explaining encryption, and the Secure Sockets Layer. Most importantly, concentrate on the benefits to the consumer, for in the end, most of them will not care less about all the security measures you take and all the money you spend to make your website secure, unless that translates into some specific benefits to them.

3) Let customers out

When people read your Privacy Policy for the first time, they will want to know how they can start or stop receiving email from you. Giving customers an opt-in and opt-out option is a great way to build trust and lower their personal barriers. However, you must be aware that people’s needs, desires and interests might change over time and despite the fact that no one likes to lose a customer, you must let them go if they state that they are no longer interested in receiving your emails. In order to protect your customers’ privacy, you must give them access to their personal profile or account, and let them delete themselves. Since one of the biggest invasions of privacy is spam, one of the organizations created to fight spam called The Anti SPAM League considers that it is a good idea to allow people to opt into your e-mail newsletter twice - once by clicking the checkbox and Submit button, and again by responding to the e-mail notification that they can subscribe if they reply -. Double opt-in makes it more likely that people know what they are doing when they volunteer for the email. Remember to include an ‘unsubscribe’ option at the bottom of each newsletter you email to your customer base. Of course, if most of your customers request to be removed from your mailing list then you will have a much more serious problem because your business will be in danger. But still, you must always give your customers a way out.

4) Let customers view and edit their personal information

If you give people the opportunity to view and edit their information, chances are they will provide even more. The reasoning under this is pretty basic: almost no one destroys his or her own data. Therefore, whenever you display customers’ personal information, place clear and visible labels indicating how they can edit it. Be clear about how they can view and edit their information, i.e. ‘You can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online by logging in and clicking the ‘Change User Info’ link in the box on the right-hand side of every page’. Also, answer questions that might be of extreme importance to some customers such as, ‘Can I review information you have about my child?’.

5) Inform customers about policy changes

Most businesses revise their Privacy Policies from time to time. If you are among these businesses, inform your customers how they can have access to those changes and revisions. For example, include a sentence in your Privacy Policy such as, ‘New versions will be posted on this web site, so please check back periodically for updates’.

6) Tell your customers who to contact in case they have questions about privacy

Sometimes people might have some specific questions that are not explicitly covered in your Privacy Policy. For example, where they can learn more about their right to privacy or who they can talk to if they have a question about their privacy. Always include one or more ways in which customers can contact you regarding privacy issues. This contributes a lot in terms of reassurance.

7) Write a privacy policy that people can understand

Last, but not least, this issue can make the whole difference between a trusted business and one that may look OK, but deep inside you feel you cannot trust. Unfortunately, most Privacy Policies are written by lawyers and consequently, contain way too many technicalities. We do not question the value of legal terminology, but we greatly emphasize the fact that a Privacy Policy does not need to sound too serious or elegant. It just needs to be clear and simple, so that any average consumer can understand it without much effort. If you use industry or in-house jargon without explanation you make readers suspect that you are trying to pull the wool over their eyes and the final result debilitates the whole purpose of the policy, which is to build trust. Sure you will have to talk about your security precautions, but refer to them in plain English before you mention tech words that most people do not understand.

Our advice regarding how to write an efficient Privacy Policy can be summed up in just two sentences: ‘Keep it simple’, and ‘Do not lie to your customers’. Do-It-Yourself Guide: Home Selling for Rookies

Gepost door admin op 01/08/2008

You can save thousands of dollars in realtor commissions by selling your home yourself. If you decide to sell your house without the help of a real estate agent or realtor, you’ll find that it’s a popular solution in the current housing market, but it isn’t an easy one. This guide to home selling should help you figure out what you need to know to sell your home yourself.

Without a knowledgeable realtor to guide you, you’ll have to hone your knowledge of the housing market, lending practices, loan availability and requirements for a home sale in your area. You’ll need to make time in your schedule to show your house, and brush up on your people skills and negotiation know-how. If all of that hasn’t discouraged you, you’ll find the tips below a helpful guide to home selling.

1. Price your house right from the start.

Listing your home for sale at the right price is the single most important thing that you can do when selling your home yourself. Check listings in the newspaper and online to find prices for similar homes to yours in your area and price yours accordingly. The best selling homes generally are priced within 2-3 percentage points of other homes that have sold recently. Remember, location is your biggest determinant of price. The ‘nicest house in the neighborhood’ won’t fetch much more than the average.

2. Invest in repairs, not improvements.

When you’re getting your house ready to sell, concentrate on making repairs, not improvements. Fix the leaky roof, take care of crooked and broken shingles and shutters and fix the cracked driveways and walkways. Cosmetic repairs are your best investment when it’s time to sell your home. Home improvements seldom recoup their cost. A realtor’s guide to home selling can tell you what home improvements are most likely to bring the most return on investment.

3. Advertise widely.

Use every advertising option you can think of - newspapers, real estate magazines, internet listings and supermarket bulletin boards have all been known to sell houses. Don’t completely ignore traditional avenues either. A flat fee listing with a local realtor can get your home into the Multiple Listing Service where it will be seen by thousands of people.

4. Think safety.

Real estate agents, particularly female ones, have learned to consider their own safety when showing an empty house. Let their experience guide you - it’s an unfortunate but true fact that there are creeps out there who target homes for sale as easy marks for theft or worse. Never show a house without letting others know, and if possible, having someone else in the house with you.

5. Use your showings to interview buyers.

When you show your home, use the opportunity to find out what you can about the prospective buyer. A few careful questions can help you weed out those who aren’t serious, or likely won’t qualify for a loan.

6. Keep your house in ’show’ condition.

As long as your house is on the market, keep it in show condition so that you’ll be ready to show it at a moment’s notice.

7. Be ready to recommend funding and lending options to your buyers.

While most buyers will have already taken a look at their financing options, some may not have considered financing - or may be having difficulty finding a mortgage. If you can suggest an option that works for them, you’ll be able to close on the sale.

8. Follow through.

No job is finished till the paperwork is done. Be sure to follow through on all the necessary paperwork, including inspections, notice of escrow, listings and anything else that might hold up your home sale.

This is a very brief overview of all the things involved in selling your own home. For a more comprehensive guide to selling a home, visit your local library or speak with a realtor in your area for more suggestions.

Trade Show Giveaways: What Works

Gepost door admin op 25/07/2008

You have your trade show exhibit ready to go, the trade show booth is set up, and your product is a winner. Now all you need are the customers. Standing room only, please. Right?

Well, for most trade show exhibitors, attracting customers is just as important as the product they are selling. Enter trade show giveaways! Trade show giveaways are promotionals tools (items, handouts, marketing materials) designed to attract customers, promote business, and help market a product after the trade show exhibit is over. By using these strategies, the goal is to bring business to your trade show exhibit, then give the customer something to remember your product by. Hopefully, the promotional item will be a success and your customers will leave satisfied, happy, and gladly telling everyone they encounter about your fabulous product and great free trade show giveaways.

There are some choices to make when deciding what promotional tools to use. Ultimately, the goal is to choose the promotional method that will attract the most visitors to your trade show booth, and make your trade show exhibit a success. You will also need to determine the amount of marketing dollars you have to spend on your promotional materials. If you are unable to afford what you believe is the best promotional or marketing tool available, then you may have to settle for other items until your budget allows you to expand in this area. Many promotional tools are designed to be kept by the customer, and to remind the customer continually of your products and services. This is accomplished through items that have been customized with your company’s information and logo. Items such as free pens, notepads, balloons, magnets, and key chains are perfect examples.

Another great and effective trade show marketing strategy is to have a raffle where the entrants are required to either sign up at your trade show booth (using their contact information) or leave a business card (you can set up a bowl or container to collect the cards), and then after they have enjoyed the exhibits, they will return to your booth for the announcement of the prize winner. The wonderful benefits from using this technique is that you have a book full of contact information and a container full of business cards that you may use in the future to contact these potential customers.

Another great idea is to use an attention grabber to attract customers to your trade show booth. This includes ideas such as: setting up a massage chair (sit back and watch how long the line grows as customers wait for their free massage), or even setting up a free food giveaway. These are just a few things you can do to catch the eye of the customer. Things such as free massages and food will help bring the customer to your trade show booth, and and a free promotional item is something they can take home with them to remember your company’s name.

Above all else, it doesn’t matter how many trade show giveaways, free food, or raffles that you have if you don’t have a ready-made script and properly greet all of your potential clients. When you notice a customer looking at your display, immediately greet them with a smile and start a friendly conversation with them.
Your products, giveaways, and tickets are there to work for you, but you must be the one to work them. If you need to have assistants help you, then by all means do so. You should never enter into a trade show exhibit without adequate preparation and help.

Remember that the most important giveaway that you have to offer all of your customers is your genuine smile and friendly conversation.

Mat Kelly is the president of ExhibitDEAL the Original Exhibit Wholesaler specializing in trade show displays, exhibits and booths. ExhibitDEAL sells portable trade show exhibits at nearly half the market rate and offers a 100% money-back guarantee.

Mission Statements: More Important Than You Thought

Gepost door admin op 24/07/2008
Toegevoegd onder: World Of Webs

If an organization lacks a mission statement, it is worthwhile to at least try to draft one. Even if it does not yield an acceptable final draft, the exercise will be rewarding for the hard work which must go into figuring out the company’s direction and putative purpose.

Mission statements can help companies determine their proper market niche, suggest new fields for the company to conquer, and even serve as a constraint, indicating, perhaps only implicitly, enterprises in which they should refrain from participating. Without the mission statement, getting sidetracked gets easier. Mission statements can further the cause of sound planning in other ways, too. The act of devising a statement forces management to take a hard look at its external threats and opportunities and at its internal competencies. If this part of the planning process had been neglected, drafting a mission statement will perhaps focus attention on such potential weak areas.

For startup companies and businesses in transition, a mission statement is critical. A mission statement is a charter that defines the basic business in which the enterprise will engage, the types of products it will make or the services it will provide, the markets it will serve, and perhaps how the company will conduct its affairs — in other words, its purpose. Some managers may tend to regard its preparation as an academic exercise in verbal hairsplitting that offers little guidance in making hard decisions. Indeed, some mission statements are so broad and vague as to recall the prophecies of ancient oracles; others are mere public-relations floss. But if done well, a mission statement can establish a firm foundation for guiding a startup company on the best course or an older business in transition in setting its growth strategy.

Medical Alert Jewelry: A Life Saving Fashion Statement

Gepost door admin op 24/07/2008
Toegevoegd onder: World Of Webs

No one really wants to be labeled as “different.” And certainly, no one wants to create that label and apply it to him or herself. But many medical conditions require some form of identification indicating that such a condition exists and must be considered in the case of an emergency. Thus, millions of people with hundreds of medical conditions must advertise that fact simply to protect themselves. For many, jewelry is the chosen medium.

Fact: Up to 15% of the population of the United States could experience a life-threatening reaction to foods, drugs, insect bites or latex.

Fact: Many diabetics suffering from hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) have been mistakenly identified as being drunk.

Fact: Over 400 Americans die annually from an allergic reaction to penicillin.

Given these and many more related statistics, the need for proper medical identification is critical. But in an image conscious society, clunky bracelets or dog tags may offend the fashion sensibilities of some while the overt labeling of medical conditions may be threatening to others. That is why manufacturers of medical jewelry are looking for a balance between the necessity of clear communications and a desire for attractive accessorizing.

It would be easy to hide identification for a medical condition in a wallet or handbag but in an emergency a visible and obvious message will assist medical personnel to make fast and accurate assessments. Jewelry, by its nature, is an adornment designed to flatter and draw attention to its wearer. A 10KT or 14KT gold or sterling silver charm, pendant or locket that also spotlights medical data can be quite attractive while helping to avert a tragedy.

Teens can be especially sensitive to their appearance and to the opinions of other teens. They can also be more apt to take risks because of these concerns. A young diabetic or epileptic may be willing to compromise their safety by avoiding the use of identification, even in the form of attractive jewelry, if they feel it makes them look “un-cool.” There are some jewelry pieces however that can gain the proper attention, if necessary, without appearing “dorky.”

Delicate ankle bracelets with a dangling charm or a small engraved plate are very acceptable jewelry accessories for teen girls. Lovely beaded bracelets are also fun, decorative and fashionable and will complement any style rather than compete. Boys can also accessorize discretely with a sports wristband band or handsome watchband. These pieces can be as simple or elegant as the wearer wants and many manufacturers produce medical jewelry with a keen eye on fashion and style trends.

No one should be embarrassed or ashamed because they have a particular condition. That doesn’t mean that they should be forced to broadcast that condition to the world by wearing identification that is unattractive and obvious. Medical personnel are trained to look for medical I.D. and jewelry, no matter how discreet, and these pieces will be one of the first places they will look for medical info. Anyone with medical issues has a responsibility to themselves and to their family to provide the information that will protect them if they are unable to properly communicate. But they can still look sharp at the same time!

Water - The 21st Century Business!

Gepost door admin op 21/07/2008
Toegevoegd onder: World Of Webs

We just can’t live without! But can we live with what we have?
With water quality at an all time low - the needs are great for a simple,
effective solution for improved drinking water. With a general increase in
awareness of health requirements and an immense demand for simple answers - the
providers of this solution are set to become the next millionaires.

Prick up your ears because ‘The Wellness Revolution’ is here and, by all
predictions, is set to become the next trillion dollar industry. You can see it
everywhere, emerging as people wake from their state of slumber to regain their
health and vitality after years of lethargy.

The ‘Baby Boomers’ have set the pace and are demanding a better, healthier,
safer way to remain fit and live longer in a world of increased uncertainties
and deepening toxicity.

We live in what has been described as a ‘toxic soup’ where our bodies are in a
constant struggle to maintain health and stability. Chronic degenerative disease
is becoming all too common and immune system problems are now the norm. People
have had enough and are demanding better. So where do we start and where are the
niches that aren’t being filled?

As a health consultant and entrepreneur, I have seen many fads and gimmicks come
and go. The quick fix, the new diet, the amazing supplement - all offering much
and supplying little. People are sick and tired of being sick and tired AND
‘being taken to the cleaners’ with promises of ‘the perfect answer’.

Where it all starts and ends is with our water! Water is the basis of life, from
which all life came and through which all life evolves. It is our essence and is
75% of our being. Without it we DIE fairly rapidly! Without ‘quality’ water, we
die a little less rapidly. Water is the answer to many health issues and can
return a person back to good health very rapidly.

Relying on the water from our taps is not the answer - the quality of this water
has become so poor that in some cities plants actually wither and die when fed
with it. Bottled water is also not the answer as this is now often sourced from
areas of extreme toxicity and pollution.

Health and sports professionals have known this for years and have been striving
to find a source of ‘quality’ water, full of essential nutrients, inexpensive
and available to all. A water that will cleanse and feed us, enrich us with
nutrition, de-acidify our toxic bodies and create healthier individuals.

Finally, the 21st Century is well upon us and new discoveries are being
uncovered at an ever-increasing rate. Top research laboratories are providing
the facts and supplying the evidence for all to see.

As with many ‘new’ discoveries, it is often a re-working and enhancing of a very
old idea that produces a ’super-product’, one that can change the lives of
millions and bring wealth to the news-bringers.

For water, the time is NOW, the secrets have been cracked and the message is
being released. Millions and millions of people are set to benefit from its
properties as they are given back a means of improving their water simply and
effectively.

For those ready to share this news with others - the rewards will be huge as the
word spreads and the demand explodes.

The time is NOW, the new millionaires are waiting in the wings - ‘WATER’ is the
word AND the answer. Be there at the beginning of something immense, something
global and prosperity will follow. Are you ready to lead the way?

Moving to a Business Web Hosting Company - 5 Essential Steps

Gepost door admin op 05/06/2008
Toegevoegd onder: World Of Webs

So you finally decided to change web hosts and kick that cheap
web hosting company to the curb. Maybe you just got fed up with
their mediocre service, slow connection times and shoddy customer
service. Maybe you just felt invisible, or worse yet, like a needle in
a haystack. Perhaps you need a web hosting company with
Internet marketing expertise to help your online business grow.
Whatever the reason, you decided it was time to switch to a real
business class web hosting company!

So, now that you have decided to make the switch to a business
web hosting company, what exactly do you need to do? Well,
there are 3 steps that you need to follow if you’ve decided to make
the move away from the cheap web hosting company.

1. Do your research: This time around, make absolutely sure that
the new web hosting company you choose has everything that
your online business needs to succeed. This includes personalized
customer service, adequate expansion capabilities, and Internet
Marketing expertise. Make sure that the business web hosting
company that you choose really does value your business and they
have the latest technology. You don’t want to find out that your
new web hosting company is still conducting business as if it is
1970. Internet Business moves much too fast for that.

2. Back up your files: Do Not let your current web hosting company
get wind of your intention to move to the business web hosting
company before backing up all your files. You should have done
backups as a matter of course anyway, not just for this occasion.
In any case, you need to have copies of your content, database,
scripts and any other files. If you let your old web hosting
company know that you intend to move before you do this, you run
the risk of having them “accidentally” lose your data or parking and
locking your domain, all of this meaning extra headaches for you.

3. Use Both Hosts: have your site run on the two hosts for a short
while. You need to do this to make sure that everything is running
properly. Of course, if you are moving to a business web hosting
company that really values you as a customer, you won’t need to
do this, as they will walk you through the process.

4. Notify the cheap web hosting company: Yep, let them know that
you are unhappy and leaving. Maybe if enough customers
complain, the cheap web hosting companies will get the message.
At this point, they’ll probably try to convince you to stay. Don’t
give in to their last ditch efforts to retain your business. Ask
yourself: why did they let it come to this point in the first place?

5. Move your DNS servers (nameservers): At this point, you’ll
need to change your nameservers from the cheap web hosting
company to the business web hosting company’s servers.
Normally, DNS server changes take 24-48 to propagate (take
effect).

If you’ve chosen your business web hosting company well, you can
be assured that they are reliable, knowledgeable and will be able
to assist you in growing your business. Better yet, you will know
that they are primarily interested in helping your business succeed
and will give you the advice that you need when you don’t have
the answers yourself.

Web Coach Tip: What You Should Know About DIY Web Sites

“First impressions are very deceiving!” I told her…let me share my past experience with you!

First of all… folks get excited by the low pricedon’t do their due dilligence and end up with buyers remorse when they get their credit card statement.

And for many reasons.

One, all that company is doing is creating cookie-cutter websites to niave, misguided folks who are impressed by all their “features”. Beleive me this is true, years agoI was one of them!

Let me tell you, the hosting company I use offers almost the exact same thing packaged differently and get this…for LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE!
1 year hosting, features, domain, bells-whistles, support, blah,blah,blah, etc,etc,etc..

“Their company”: 12mo/$203.76 yr (actual price taken from “Their” Website 5/30/05. Company name withheld, write me and I’ll tell you)

My hosting company: 12mo/$94 yr. Ya see that, LESS than HALF!

Two, folks who work hard and take the time to create one of these flim-flam websites usually find out in the end they wasted their time because their site isn’t pulling in the results they expected. Why? Cause their copy and over all site content stinks. (lets be honest!) They are so FRUSTRATED because no one ever explained the psychology of a web site to them in the first place!

What? Psychology?YES, PSYCHOLOGY! Who cares how flashy or pretty it is. When they create “instant” sites, people are so excited to “see their name in lights” they lose all rational thought and don’t even consider the purpose or copy content. (Remember, years agoI was drooling over my new web page too!)

Three, these same customers who thought they were getting such a great deal either abandon their website (that’s what I did) because “the internet won’t work for my business” (lack of proper marketing) or get smart and seek advice from an expert or coach (I found a coach later, wish I’d have done it sooner!).

Have you done this too? Do you have a site already, but don’t know what else to do with it??

Save yourself NOW! :) Find an web development coach so you can get back to business!
